Cosmetic dermatology includes a variety of treatments that will make you feel and look younger. All Botox, Dysport and dermal filler injections are given by one of our board certified dermatologists or our experienced registered nurse.
Botox and Dysport
At Dermatological Association Of Texas, we believe in Botox® and Dysport. Both, Botox and Dysport work in several different areas on the face such as: Frown Lines, Forehead Lines, Eye Brow Lift, and Crow’s Feet. Botox and Dysport are injected into the muscle in these areas and works by weakening the muscle, which in turn lessens the lines of facial expression. The results last 2-4 months and there is little to no down time. We can give you a natural, relaxed look, and you will still have your freedom of expression.
JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel is a smooth gel filler that instantly smoothes out wrinkles and facial folds. We offer Ultra Plus XC JUVÉDERM®. It typically last 9-12 months and causes very little swelling or bruising. Results aren’t just instant, but they’re also smooth and natural, everyone will notice but no one will know. Juvederm Ultra Plus XC is used for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and wrinkes such as the lines along the sides of your nose and mouth. Typically this product is used to add volume to the lips and help to fill hollow areas under the eyes.
Radiesse® is a safe, next generation cosmetic dermal filler that lasts longer than other fillers. It is setting a new standard for the correction of facial lines and wrinkles, restoring a natural, youthful look in an easy, convenient treatment. As we age, we start to lose fat in our faces. This is often quite noticeable in the cheek area. Radiesse® dermal filler is ideal for adding volume to cheeks because it can be used to treat large surface areas in one procedure. The result is a healthy-looking, contoured cheek area, like that of more youthful faces.
Chemical Peels are an ideal way to improve the overall quality of your skin with little or no down time. Chemical Peels are topically applied and aid in the restoration and rejuvenation of the skins surface. They create a uniform and controlled shedding of the top layers of the skin. Chemical Peels can reduce blotchy, uneven pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, superficial acne scarring and acne. Meet with our Medical Esthetician to determine which chemical peel is best for your skin type and needs.
The CoolSculpting® procedure is the only, non-invasive procedure that uses advanced cooling technology to gently and effectively target and eliminate fat in specific areas of a patient’s body through a proprietary technology called Cryolipolysis. This technology selectively targets fat bulges and eliminates fat cells through a gradual process that does not harm the surrounding tissues. The CoolSculpting Procedure can reduce unwanted fat and bulges in the flank (love handles) and abdomen. Unlike traditional invasive surgical procedures, the CoolSculpting Procedure is non-invasive with no needles and no need for surgical incisions. With little to no downtime, patients can typically resume normal activities on the same day as the procedure, making it a good choice for patients seeking a non-surgical alternative to liposuction.
Dermapen is a fractional micro-needling device that reduces fine lines and wrinkles, tightens and lifts skin, treats acne scars and stretch marks. The automated needling motion minimizes pain and discomfort resulting in little to no downtime. Dermapen offers great results, it is easy to use and is safer than other leading alternatives, at a fraction of the cost.
Dermaplaning is a procedure where the skin superficial cellular layers of the skin and unwanted facial hair on the face is removed with a blade. This treatment results in super smooth skin. A change in the skin texture can be felt right away.
The Intense Pulse Light (IPL) machine uses a new technology that removes unwanted hair up to 10 times faster than other lasers. The light system works by emitting pulses of intense lamplight into the hair follicles. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicales and converted to heat. The heat then loosens the hair and disables the cells responsible for growing new hair. All areas of the body can be treated except around the eyes. Three to six treatments are necessary to reduce unwanted hair. Click to see before and after pictures and more information…

LATISSE® solution is a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes, making them longer, thicker and darker. Eyelash hypotrichosis is another name for having inadequate or not enough eyelashes. LATISSE® is believed to affect the growth phase of the eyelash hair cycle in 2 ways: first, it increases the length of this phase; and second, it increases the number of hairs in the growth phase. Results are usually gradual. Users do see significant improvement in 6-8 weeks. Latisse™ is the only FDA approved prescription for hypotrichosis used to grow eyelashes. It has also been studied in clinical trials to demonstrate safety and effectiveness.
The Melanage Peel Treatment is the most effective treatment of hyperpigmentation and pigmented blemishes. It is a superficial peel designed to improve the texture and appearance of hyperpigmentation caused by melasma and sun damage. The treatment involves applying a masque and an at-home regimen. Melanage Masque is applied during an office visit where the practitioner compounds the peel at the time of dispensing to ensure its potency and reliability. The masque is removed by patient after required length of time according to their skin type. Patients leave office with masque on their face. Patients are responsible for adhering to an easy-to-follow, at-home regimen involving the application of Melanage home care products. All skin areas can be treated and all skin types. One to two treatment periods is recommended and can be repeated 4-6 months following the first treatment if necessary.
Microdermabrasion is a gentle resurfacing procedure using a diamond tipped device called the Diamond Tome® . This mechanical exfoliation involves gentle suction with a diamond tipped wand to remove the uppermost layer of dead skin cells from the skin surface. This technique has been remarkably effective in removing excess oil, blackheads and bacteria in acne patients by essentially “vacuuming up” dead skin cells, bacteria, blackheads and skin surface oils. Superficial pigmentation problems can also be improved, as can fine lines, wrinkles and irregular skin texture. For best results, it is recommended you get a series of treatments and use in conjunction with anti-aging skin care products.
It is a mild treatment causing minimal damage to the surface of the skin and therefore results are subtle and include a freshening in the appearance and improvement in the texture of the skin, and a reduction in the appearance of fine lines or wrinkles.
The treatment is usually painless and doesn’t irritate the skin greatly. Most people find that they can return to work immediately afterwards. The result is brighter, smoother, fresher-looking skin – with some redness that diminishes quickly and very little to no down time!
In general, good microdermabrasion candidates are adults who are in good physical health, with realistic expectations for the outcome of their treatment. People who do not have enough available time to undergo more invasive skin resurfacing treatments such as dermabrasion, laser skin resurfacing, or chemical peels may also be good candidates for microdermabrasion.
Risks for this procedure can include hyperpigmentation or darkening of the skin, temporary worsening of acne, redness, sensitivity and itching. Other risks are possible depending on different skin types and medications used at home, so please be sure to discuss your at home regimen with our office staff.
Non-Ablative Skin Rejuvenation
The Non-Ablative Skin Rejuvenation treatment is a non-invasive fractional treatment that stimulates collagen production helping to rejuvenate, plump and tighten the skin. You will see a reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, large pores, acne scars & pigmentation. With little to no downtime, visible results are seen within 1-2 weeks after each treatment. Typically 3-6 treatments are recommended to achieve optimal results. Treatments are performed 3-4 weeks apart. Immediately following the procedure you may experience mild redness which typically subsides within a few hours. You may return to your normal activities immediately following the procedure. Areas such as the face, neck and chest can be treated with this procedure as well as other areas on the body.
Stretch Mark Treatment
Stretch marks are an unfortunate fact of life for many women. Anytime the skin has been stretched too far or too fast – such as in puberty, pregnancy or weight loss – these unsightly lines appear. We are pleased to offer the only FDA approved treatment to help reduce the appearance of stretch marks. Fractional laser stretch mark treatment is a non-invasive laser that stimulates collagen production, which reduces the appearance of the stretch marks. Any area of the body can be treated with the fractional laser. There is no downtime and is pain free. You may return to work or your regular activities immediately following this procedure. Typically, a series of treatments are preformed and you will see visible results in as little as 1-2 treatments. Click to see before and after pictures and more information…
